We are in Melbourne! Our 17 hour flight was surprisingly smooth. After dinner and a movie, we both fell asleep and woke up an hour before landing in Australia.
Our apartment in St. Kilda (a beach suburb, ~6km from downtown Melbourne) was very spacious with great views of the bay and Albert Park.

The weather has been a mixed bag of warm sunshine and cold torrential rainstorms. There was so much rain, newscasters were calling it "The Rain Event of 2010." Sadly, our apartment had some flooding, so we're in a new apartment in the trendy suburb of South Yarra (3km from downtown Melbourne).
We're off to explore the city and will post more updates very soon!
